Mythological white marble figural statue depicting the Apollo Belvedere after Pythian Apollo or Apollo Belvedere of Classical antiquity now residing in the Gabinetto delle Maschere of the Pio-Clementine Museum of the Vatican Museums complex, comprising a young and physically robust Apollo in archer's stance with curly hair and a strophium, a head band worn by gods and kings, his figure nude with the exception of a chlamys or robe, a fig leaf, and sandals, his right hand resting on a tree stump on which a serpent slithers, commonly believed to be Python, guard of Delphi.
