ARMAN [FRENCH 1928-2005], ACCUMULATION, 51" X 63. 5", "DIRTY PAINTING":Arman (Armand Fernandez). Signed at edge of canvas. Canvas mounted on wood stretcher and wood backing. Accumulation of acrylic and paint tubes on canvas. Arman, a French-born American artist, was a founding member of the Nouveau Réalisme movement in Paris in the 1960s, and is perhaps best known for his 'accumulations' and sculptural works with paintbrushes. He passed away in 2005 at the age of 76. Inspired by Yale's "Number 13A: Arabesque", 1948, by Jackson Pollock.
