English, 19th century. English Chinoiserie red and parcel gilt paint decorated display cabinet, the egg and dart ogee floral painted cornice over a frieze with continuous ripple molding, floral and diaper pattern over a pair of grille inset doors decorated with reserves of rockwork, insects, flowering foliage and diaper pattern, opening to an adjusting five shelved interior with locking mechanism, later electrified to the top, the bottom of each door paneled and decorated with hi ho birds, butterflies and insects amidst landscape, the base with two floral painted drawers, each with individual locking mechanisms, the sides similarly decorated with diaper pattern, scenic panels and hi ho birds, the whole raised on stylized bracket feet. Approximate height 85.5”, width 46”, depth 15”. Provenance: From the Estate of Sam & Florence Inman, Atlanta, Georgia.
