Provenance: purchased from Hazlitt, Gooden & Fox Ltd., London, July 12, 1985, catalogue no. 39 in the exhibition, "Nineteenth Century French Drawings, 13 June - 12 July 1985" (photocopy of bill of sale in customer file, also label on verso of frame).
