MARSHALL M. FREDERICKS BRONZE SCULPTURE, C. 1958 H 10 5/8", W 13", D 5", ''Spirit of Detroit'', an original work of art, signed, 1958. Made in Oslo, Norway at Kristiania Kunst og Metalstøperi (Kristiania Art and Metal works) at the time of the creation of the larger sculpture in Detroit. The statue is of a seated man with his arms outstretched, holding a bronze sphere emanating rays to symbolize God in his left hand, and figures of a small family in his right symbolizing all human relationships. Green and gilt patinas. Metalstøperi foundry mark.
