French,late 19th/early 20th century. Matched pair of Louis XV style giltwood Bergeres avec Orielles, each with a padded back, sides seat surmounted by a pierced floral crest and within a rope-carved frame, joined by shaped sides and acanthine-carved arms to the serpentine cushioned seat with removable cushion over a conforming apron centered with a shell and raised on squat cabriole legs carved at the knee and terminating on scrolled toes. The back, sides and seat covered in salmon with gold overlay fabric, probably Fortuny fabric. Approximate height 47.8", width 28.4" (arm to arm), seat depth 21.5", seat height 19.75".
