Collection of five miniature or small portraits comprising of a leather cased painting on wood panel of a young woman wearing dark burgundy to brown velvet dress (case 8" x 6. 5"); a leather cased painting on wood panel of a man in black jacket and tie (case 8.125" x 6.5"); an 19th century miniature portrait of a man in black jacket and tie with long sideburns on ivory with hand written label "Wm J. Davis Boslin 1835" (overall in case measures 3.8" x 3.125"); an oval portrait of a young man with blue jacket and dotted shirt in an oval hinged brown fabric covered case (case measures 2.9" x 2.5"); and a profile silhouette of a woman inscribed on back "supposed to be of Mrs. Isaac P. Davis of Boston called Aunt Isaac" (measures 4.5" x 3.75"). According to the consignor, these items were from the family of John Coness, a 19th century Senator of California.
