Chinese Tang Dynasty (618–907 AD) style figural pottery sculpture depicting a male rider a top a standing horse. Figure wearing helmet and with hole in one hand on side of body likely for holding weapon, remnants of red, white and grey polychroming throughout. Horse with trappings and standing on an integral rectangular base. Unmarked. Approximate height 12.1", width 3.5", depth 9.2". Note: This horse and rider may be a period Tang Dynasty work as it has a soft exterior and it absorbs liquid quickly--typical of authentic pottery works.
