48 STAR AMERICAN FLAG, C1950, H 46", W 72":this style flag was used between 1912 and 1959 when two stars were added to this flag when New Mexico and Arizona joined the union. The cotton fabric has a more modern stitch pattern. The stars are in the natural color of the cotton with a stenciled blue canton. Stitched red and white stripes in a more coarse weave to the white cotton stripes. Inscribed B.W. Church and stamped: 'Styled 4 x 6'
