CAST IRON 'DANIEL BOONE' HIGHWAY MARKER, C. 1913-1938, 21" X 16":Cast iron highway marker depicts Boone holding a firearm and seated next to a dog; the text on the marker is "Boone Trail Highway" and "Metal from Battleship Maine in Tablet", "Daniel Boone". Overall dimensions measure 21 1/2" x 15 3/4". 358 highway markers were made from the salvaged pieces of the Battleship Maine and placed throughout the United States.
