Christopher Le Brun (British, b. 1951- ), "Day Painting"-2007, oil on canvas. Signed on verso, titled, and dated "Christopher Le Brun". "Day painting 11.7.07" with backslash through number 3. Contemporary, abstract painting of a grey horse at center in a muted, arched architectural landscape with elongated, brightly-colored fence posts, flags or forms at lower register, loosely rendered. Framed 42.3" x 38.4". Unframed 40" x 36". Note: Le Brun was elected President of the Royal Academy of Arts in 2011 and currently serves in the esteemed position. He is the youngest president to be elected since Lord Leighton in 1878. His artwork has been commended by art critics and is in a number of notable public and private collections including the Tate Gallery, the British Museum, the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art and MoMA, New York.
