RUSSIAN SILVER COVERED TROPHY CUP, K. FABERGE, DATED 1902, H 16", DIA 7", 'CONCOURS HIPPIQUE', ENCASED:A round trophy cup with tapering sides and flaring base surmounted by a domed cover centered with a crowned double-headed eagle finial; the cover and base are adorned with a total of six round medallions, five of which are portraits of royalty, the sixth a crowned double-headed eagle. Engraved inscription at the front of the cup includes "Concours Hippique 1902". The cover is stamped at the interior rim with Kokoshnik, "K.W." and a swan enclosed in an oval (French import mark); the base is stamped with the mark of K. Faberge along with Kokoshnik enclosed with 84 (.875 fineness) and unidentified assayer's initials, and "K.W." (see additional photo). Fitted within an oak presentation box (see additional photo).
