American, Late 19th C. Massive Victorian hall tree or settle in quartersawn oak, attributed to R.J. Horner, with scrolled pediment and foliate scrolled cresting to each end over a frieze with carved floral motif and inset with large shaped beveled mirror plate, flanked to each side with Doric capitals mounted with brass cap and coat holders with carved lion masks above the downscrolled arms on leafy supports, the settle with hinged lid for storage and raised on beefy paw feet. Height 86", width 51", depth 19".
