Italian, 19th century. Baroque style walnut and brass fauteuil, open armchair or poltrana, having an upright square back with heavy turned brass finials, the arms, arm supports, legs, and stretchers all barley twist carved, the handles and feet carved as knots, retaining original velvet and embroidered upholstery and large brass rosette shaped nail heads. Height 53.25", width 24" (arm to arm), seat depth 16", seat height 19.5".
