SETH THOMAS, PILLAR AND SCROLL SHELF CLOCK, C1830, H 30", W 17", D 4 1/2":Mahogany shelf clock, topped with an open pediment of flame mahogany veneer, with three brass finials, (not original), two at the upper front corners and one in the center, made by Ball and Ball, Exton, Pa. c. late 20th C. having a full height glass and wood framed access door opening to a painted face with strawberry and fruit bowl motif. Arabic numerals, two key wind. Access door has a lower reverse painted tablet depicting an estate landscape scene with flowing stream. Centered clear area in the tablet painting to view pendulum. Full height turned pillars at the front corners flanking the access door. Supported by bracket feet and contoured skirt. Includes key, brass crank, brass pendulum disk and two weights. Metal covers protecting weight pulleys with bent wire retainers.
