GEORGE III STERLING OPEN SALTS, LONDON, C. 1755, TWO, DIA 2 1/2":Each round sterling silver open salt has repousse scroll and foliate motifs about, on three legs; partially rubbed hallmarks include a crowned leopard, lion passant, illegible maker's mark which do not appear to be the same, and date letters r and u, indicating 1752 and 1755, respectively (see additional photo). Measuring H.1 1/2" x 2 1/2", and totaling approximately 4.4 troy oz.
