Formal figural portrait depicting a sophisticated man standing in black shirt, jacket and trousers holding a pair of eyeglasses or spectacles in front of a red draped curtain with gold tassels slightly obscuring the view over banister or railing of ornate Indian palace architectural view in background to the right of the figure with swans in the water. Framed approximately 60" x 50". Unframed approximately 53.5" x 43.5". Provenance: Previously housed in Hames Hall located in Claxton, Georgia.
