FRENCH BISQUE 'BEBE TETEUR' BY BRU, LATE 19TH C. , L 14 1/2":Or nursing doll, with a bisque swivel head set with blue paperweight eyes and hand-painted eyebrows, lashes and open mouth; kid body with bisque forearms and hinged knees. The back of the head is impressed "Bru J. Ne. 6" above turning key (see additional photo); stamped "Bru" at her left shoulder plate and "No. 5" at her right shoulder plate; a paper label at the front torso has been heightened in red (see additional photos). Dressed in a white cotton dress, underpinnings, and bonnet of the period, with an embroidered cloak.
