British School, mid 19th century. "Visit at the Mountain Lake", oil on canvas, apparently unsigned. Painting depicting a mountainous landscape setting, possibly in the Scottish Highlands, with a small lake and waterfall at center entertaining a family of four on an idyllic Summer day, the father with fishing net at center and the mother to left with one child as another runs down a dirt path to left, the scene bookended with finely painted large trees and having mountains to background along horizon line under clouded blue sky. Framed approximately 24.5" x 28.375", unframed approximately 20" x 23.75".
