An RIAA (Recording Industry Association of American) gold record issued to Capricorn Records to commemorate sales of more than 500,000 copies of "Layla and other assorted love songs" by Derek and the Dominos, the record being mounted over a copy of the cd beside a facsimile of the album cover and gold tone tape labeled "Gold Sales Award", with an RIAA hologram at center below record bearing serial number "1287393". Framed approximately 21.25" x 17.25". Provenance: Acquired directly from Capricorn Records (83 Walton Street, Atlanta, Georgia 30303) circa 2006 by private collection in Atlanta, Georgia. Note: Derek and the Dominos band members include Eric Clapton, Bobby Whitlock, Carl Radle, and Jim Gordon, the band being accompanied by George Harrison of The Beatles and Duane Allman
