CHINESE BLUE & WHITE WARE JAR, MING DYNASTY, H 4 3/4":This jar, formed of two molded horizontal sections joined at the middle, has a rounded shoulder with low neck and a concave base which is unglazed, showing a white paste. The decoration, rendered in purplish-blue under a bluish white glaze, consists of a band of stylized lotus scrolls and a border of lotus petal panels. The domed cover with a central knob is decorated with three broad leaves.
