Maison Krieger (Paris, France--founded 1826-1955), likely late 19th or early 20th century. A set of four English Chippendale style armchairs made by French maker Maison Krieger, each comprising of carved and molded serpentine crest rails with carved bellflower decoration terminating in floral medallions each surmounting the stiles carved with hanging bellflower decoration, the pierced splat comprising an upper pierce carved floral medallion framed beading and carved bellflowers surmounting a lower medallion with a pierce carved star, the moldings of the two circles rendered as two carved loops, the trapezoidal seat upholstered in blue velvet fabric on tapered fluted front legs and raking back legs joined by an H-shaped stretcher. All chairs include an additional tufted cushion upholstered in blue fabric with small white print. Approximate height 39.75", width 35", depth 20.5", seat to floor 18.75", seat to floor (including extra cushion) 21".
