J. ALLEN ST. JOHN (AMERICAN 1872 - 1957), POSTER, ANTI GERMAN POSTER, 30" X 19", "THE HUN-HIS MARK":An Anti-German print which typifies the hate campaign which arose in America after the country's entry into the war. The motif is of a bloody hand print which is also found in French posters. It states 'The Hun-his Mark BLOT IT OUT with LIBERTY BONDS'. He was a teacher at the Chicago Art Institute from 1917-1935 and with the American Academy of Art from 1935 until his death.
