American, likely New York, c 1815-1820. A mahogany and mahogany veneer Empire period pier table comprising an overhanging top over the frieze decorated with flame mahogany veneer with central frieze drawer and two brass mounts at edges, each depicting a seated centurion holding a cornucopia, over intricately worked brass capitals with diminutive leaf and Greek key motifs heading cylindrical wooden column supports, the pier mirror flanked by two flattened rectangular columns, over a veneered coved lower shelf, all raised on gadrooned bun feet. Dealer's label reading "Ernest B. Hagen" at underside of frieze drawer. Apparently unmarked. Approximate height 36.75", width 42", depth 18".
