Manner of George Brookshaw (English 1751 - 1823), 19th century. Fine George III Adam style decorated satinwood, parcel gilt and polychrome painted console or pier table having a demilune top with conforming hand painted fruit banding enclosing a painted mythological scene depicting a recumbent sleeping woman and a winged sleeping cherub, all above a frieze carved with parcel gilt scrolling acanthus centered with a rectangular satinwood plaque hand painted with a handled urn, raised on four turned and tapered legs decorated with acanthus,beading and guilloche united by four scrolled, lifting stretchers centering a beaded and gadrooned urn with Greek Key handles, the whole terminating on ball feet. Approximate height 34.,37", width 40", depth 13.25".
