Attributed to Joseph Rhodes (British,1782-1854), "Child Near Cottage", oil on canvas, unsigned. Figural painting depicting a young female child holding hat and standing barefoot dipping feet into shallow stream near dirt path leading to a country cottage with thatched sloped roof with woman with dog standing by fence line in conversation with man. Handwritten label on back of stretcher notes "Joseph Rhodes of Leeds Signed & dated on reverse of original canvas 1804". Framed approximately 35.125" x 29.5". Unframed approximately 30.25" x 24.875".
