Broadside for Grand Reception of the Return of Warren Light Guard, Foxboro, Massachusetts, July 23, 1861, (fold, foxing, minor creases), 13 1/2 x 6 3/4 in. Note: The 4th Regt. Mass. Vol. Mill "Minute Men" was summoned to Boston by special Order No. 14 on April 15, 1861. Company F of Foxboro had offered its services as early as January 10, 1861. The 4th was the first regiment to leave the state, forming a part of the garrison at Fort Monroe, then a month later to Newport News to help fortify Camp Butler, then in June Company H and four others took part in the battle of Big Bethel. On July 22, 1861, the regiment mustered out at Long Island to be welcomed in Foxboro the next day.
