Fancy Painted and Decorated Settee, Pennsylvania, c. 1830-40, the crest is divided into three sections visually above three splats on the plank seat with a rolled front rail flanked by scrolled painted arms on turned slightly tapering legs interspersed with rectangular front stretchers and joined by medial turned swelled stretchers to the four tapering raking rear legs; original light green ground paint with freehand decoration of light melon-colored flowers and green leaves accented by gold and black on the crest, front rail and stretchers with mahogany-color painted arms, very minor surface imperfections on the plank seat ht. 34 1/4, wd. 77 1/2, dp. 21 3/4 in. Note: The name "BH. HOMBROEK" is painted underneath the seat.
