Queen Anne Mahogany Carved Scroll-top High Chest, probably Massachusetts, 1786, the top section with scrolled molded cornice centering a plinth with urn and flame finial and flanking square plinths and finials, above a cockbeaded case of fan-carved central drawer and flanking smaller drawers and four graduated long drawers, set into lower section of long drawer and central concave fan-carved drawer and flanking drawers, on shaped and valanced skirt, all on cabriole legs ending in pad feet on platforms, brasses appear to be original, old refinish, (minor restoration and imperfections), ht. 88, wd. 42, dp. 22 in. Note: A pencil inscription insdie the upper case reads "made by Horace Smith, Sept 9, 1786."
