Federal Carved Mahogany and Mahogany Veneer Astragal-end Work Table, New York City, 1810-20, the hinged top is bordered with cross-banded mahogany veneer opens to a fitted interior with small removable sections flanking the felt-lined hinged center over one faux and one working drawer for sewing materials; the reeded facade above the pedestal base with concave leaf-carved legs ending in wood-carved hairy paw feet on casters, original brass pulls, old refinish, (repairs), ht. 32 1/4, wd. 24, dp. 13 1/4 in.
