19th Century English Silver-plated Athletic Trophy, the cylindrical drum-form lidded vessel raised on four ball feet, with overall engraved Aesthetic Movement-style decoration featuring bird, butterflies, and foliate designs, with fluted edges and ivorine handle and bun finial, engraved inscription reads "CLAPHAM ROVERS F. C. 1886 One Mile Handicap 1st Prize WON BY," lacking an engraved name of a winner, marked to base "01385" and "REGd No. 24362" within a diamond-shaped lozenge, lg. 7 1/2, ht. 9 1/4 in.
