Outdoor Sculpture Carved marble Harvard, Massachusetts, late 19th/early 20th century The design influence is from Dante with hooded face and writhing nude bodies adorning the sides and top to stepped and angular base, approx. ht. 40, wd. 40 3/4, dp. 37 in. Note: This sculpture was found outside in a field on the property where Frank Wigglesworth (1893-1951) had his studio in the early part of the 20th century. The family recalls this being the centerpiece for a pond on the property. This sculpture is being sold to benefit a Land Conservation Fund.
