Philippe Halsman (American, 1906-1979) Martha Graham, 1946, from an edition of 500 printed in 1978. Signed with embossed stamp on the reverse, artist copyright stamp with printing date and number "8.500" on the reverse, titled and dated in pencil on the reverse. Gelatin silver print, image size 13 1/2 x 10 3/8 in., framed. Condition: Unmounted, creases to image beneath signature l.r., tear to margin l.r. The sheet measures 14 x 10 7/8 in. The creases to the lower corner break the emulsion surface (as does the embossed signature). The tear to the margin is about 3/16 inches and does not effect the image.
