American Coin Silver Presentation Kiddush Cup, apparently unmarked, dated 1857, goblet inscribed a "Token of acknowledgment Presented to Mr. J. Sheonbron By the Board of Directors of Noyoth Institute Tishri 1st 5618" within cartouche, (wear), ht. 5 1/2 in.; together with a Grossjean & Woodward mug inscribed to Rizpah Fone Heydenfeldt, a coin silver goblet, a Revere sterling goblet and an Austro-Hungarian silver goblet with Hebrew inscription. Note: Cincinnati, Ohio, is the oldest Jewish community west of the Alleghenies, and in the mid-19th century was the third largest Jewish community in America. The Noyoth Institute was founded in 1855 by congregation Bene Israel.
