Floral Wool Hooked Rug, America, late 19th century, a nearly square rug centered with an urn issuing a large stylized flower blossom and leafy branches, bordered by a meandering vine with buds and blossoms, mounted onto a wooden frame, (losses, repairs), 51 x 49 1/2 in. Repairs to several central and border areas with various colored yarns, scattered thin areas where base shows through but stabilized with thread. Edged with strips of green wool twill. Rug has been stitched onto a canvas backing and mounted on a wooden frame.
