Two-Day Marine Chronometer by Parkinson & Frodsham No. 636, London, c. 1819, the 3 3/8 in. dia. silvered brass Roman numeral dial engraved Parkinson & Frodsham, Change Alley, London 636, "Up-Down" and seconds dials, blued steel hands, screw-fit bezel, brass bowl suspended in gimbals with a spring-loaded locking plate, internal bayonet-fit dust cover with two blued leaf springs fitted to cushion the assembly in the gimballed bowl, 2 1/8 in. dia. chain drive fusee movement with damascened plates engraved Parkinson & Frodsham, Change Alley, London , spring detent escapement, uncut coaxial bi-metallic balance with keystone heat compensation weights diamond endstone, blued helical hairspring, pillar screws, set up ratchet and pawl, fitted in a three-tier mahogany box with brass carrying handles, unmarked bone escutcheon and glazed viewing cover, tipsy key engraved 636 , ht. 6 1/2, wd. 6 3/8, dp. 6 1/4 in. Mahogany box in cleaned condition with slight filled crack in top lid, case brass fittings in old lacquer, gimbal, bezel and bowl brass bright and re-lacquered, movement overhauled and running well.
