Hide-Covered Pine Box, Newburyport, Massachusetts, c. 1811, rectangular dome-top box with iron handles and latch, hide-covered, with leather trim secured and decorated with iron tacks with the initials "H.S.W." and "P.C.," the interior lined with newspaper from the Newburyport Herald, dated 1811, a paper maker's label is affixed to the interior lid "James Taylor...Middle Street, Newburyport...," (wear), ht. 9 3/4, wd. 24, dp. 12 1/2 in.
