Soapstone Carving, China, 20th century, possibly made of shoushan stone, depicting Ma Gu, the goddess of longevity, seated on a deer amidst clouds, atop a mountain with pine trees and lingzhi mushrooms, with another deer bearing a basket of peaches on its back, stone of light caramel and deep purple tones with coral-colored inclusions, set on a red stone base imitating a wood stand and incised with the characters "Ma Ru Xian Shou," 12 x 8 x 4 in.
