Set of Five Inksticks, China, 19th/20th century, rectangular, some with shaped edges, each depicting an old man at leisure in low relief, with gilt inscriptions on both sides, the fitted lacquer box with gilt characters "wu lao tu mo" within a scrolling lotus border, with a cloth-bound base, lg. to 3 1/4 in., together with a note likely dated to the mid-20th century.
