Thangka of Padmasambhava, possibly Nepal, distemper on cloth, depicted seated atop a moon edged with lotus blossoms rising from a lake, with his right hand holding a gold vajra and his left hand holding a white skull cup above his lap, and the katvanga staff with a flaming center blade resting against his left shoulder, surrounded by various bodhisattvas and gurus amidst the surrounding peonies and foliage; with silk borders and cover, mounted as a hanging scroll, 23 3/4 x 17 in.
