Thangka of a Mandala, Indo-Tibet, 20th century, distemper and gold on cloth, possibly centered with five forms of Tara, each depicted seated in a roundel and superimposed on a square enclosure divided into the four directional colors, the outer circle comprising various celestial attendants and guardians, the mandala in turn surrounded by other deities amid a fantastic mountainous landscape, Sanskrit text verso, with silk borders and cover, mounted as a hanging scroll, 23 1/2 x 17 in.
