French, 19th century (circa 1841-1876). Matched pair of large Leboeuf Milliet & Co porcelain handled vases or urns both decorated continuously with grapevines and fall colored foliage on cream ground, one vase with opposing teal bird with red head, wings spread and perching on grapes with open peach and foliage to the foreground, the other vase with colorful blue and brown bird wings spread amidst grapes, peaches and foliage, both vases mounted to the shoulder with scrolling cobalt and brown handles decorated with grapesvine and leafy foliage, on turned socle base, marked twice to the underside of foot impressed L.M.&C as well as in green underglaze. Height 16", width 14" (handle to handle), base diameter 6.4". Note: Leboeuf Milliet & Co produced fine porcelain and ceramics in Creil et Montereau from 1841 to 1876. They were not in production for a long period of time therefore pieces are considered rare and scarce.
