Boston, Massachusetts silk needlework picture , inscribed in beads "MD 1740", worked in a variety of intricate stitches in shades of blue, red, green, brown, white, and yellow depicting a landscape with courting couple, fisherman, flute player, and other figures, birds, animals, fish, and buildings next to a stream, all done in the old tradition English needlework patterns as exhibited in Boston schoolgirl work of that period, 11 1/4" x 14 1/4".
