Newbury, Essex County, Massachusetts silk on linen needlework sampler , inscribed "Sarah Jewett born November 6 1745 this sampler I wrought in the year 1761", with bands of alphabets, flowers, and a central larger band with stylized floral panels with birds over a lower section with lawn and elaborate pot of flowers, trees, deer, birds and berries, all within a sawtooth and floral border, 22 1/2" x 17".
