Methuen, Massachusetts silk on linen needlework sampler , inscribed "Deborah Day her sampler made in the year 1777", with bands of alphabets, above verse and lower panel with a figure of a young woman and her red coated suitor in front of a house and blue sky overhead, 16 1/2" x 10". Listed in American Samplers by Bolton & Coe, pg. 41. Page 72 contains a listing of another sampler done by her mother Deborah Robins Day, lot 66 in this sale.
