Théodore Rousseau (French, 1812-1867) Terrains boisés et humides Stamped "TH·R·" l. l. beneath the mat, titled and inscribed "No. 3/Rousseau/.../ sépia" in ink on a label affixed to the frame backing board. Ink wash on paper, 4 5/8 x 6 in. (11.7 x 15.3 cm), framed. Condition: Losses to paper at lower edge, other edges trimmed to image, subtle rippling, affixed to back mat along upper edge of the reverse. Provenance: From the collection of Quincy Adams Shaw, by family descent to the current owner.
