Walker Evans (American, 1903-1975) Two Photographs of Buildings: Cherry Valley Home, 1934 and Uncle Sam Plantation, Lousiana , 1935. Cherry Valley signed and dated "Walker Evans..." in pencil on the mount l.r., both titled in pencil and identified with an artist's stamp, Lyme, Connecticut, on verso. Gelatin silver prints mounted to matboard, sheet/image sizes to 6 1/8 x 9 1/4 in. (15.6 x 23.5 cm), unmatted, unframed. Condition: Good. Provenance: Through the estate of Matthew Wysocki (1920-1991), artist, photographer, professor, and chairman of Dartmouth College's visual studies department (1966-1989), to the present owner by family descent, Connecticut.
