New Hampshire, 18th century. Two New Hampshire bow back Windsor armchairs, both with shaped hand rests and saddle seat on turned tapered legs united by a turned stretcher. The taller one bearing tag to the underside that states "Ten spoke Grandfather's chair (Windsor), in the family of Matthew Brown, father of Lucian Brown, in Concord, N.H. before 1800". Height 37", width 22" (arm to arm), seat depth 13", seat height 16.5". Smaller chair height 33", width 21.5" (arm to arm), seat depth 13,5", seat height 15"._x000D_
