Quarter-plate Daguerreotype of a Painted Portrait of Reverend Micah Stone, the gentleman identified in inscriptions on the backing paper behind the portrait, mounted in a black, combination "The Memorial" and "The Lord's Prayer" (Krainik 44 and 41) Union case, (tarnish, spiders, dust, glass impurities). Note: Rev. Micah Stone was born September 22, 1770, in Reading, Massachusetts, the son of Rev. Eliab Stone and his wife Sarah. He married Sarah Wood (b. 1771) on September 1, 1801, graduated with honors from Harvard College in 1790, became the Preceptor at Phillips Academy at Andover, Massachusetts, served as a tutor at Harvard 1794-95, and was ordained pastor of the third Church at Brookfield, Massachusetts, on March 11, 1801, and remained there as pastor until he died on September 10, 1852, at the age of 82 years.
