Seven Daguerreotype Portraits in Four Inlaid "Jewel" Cases, three sixth-plate cases each containing two portraits, one of two young women, possibly sisters Emma A. Hamblet and Ellen Matilda Hamblet of Piscataquog Village, New Hampshire, who died at the ages of 24 and 18 of consumption, according to their clipped newspaper obituaries found in the case; another case with two portraits of young women, one standing with hands resting on the back of a chair, the other seated, holding a book, her dress tinted blue; one with portraits of a middle-aged man and woman; and a ninth-plate portrait of a woman wearing earrings and a brooch; all mounted in book-form lacquered papier-mache bijou or "jewel" cases with mother-of-pearl and abalone inlay, (imperfections).
